Drought

Since the destructive flooding of early August, Long Island has experienced virtually no rainfall. I am sure you’ve noticed the warm October we’ve been having and your plants do, too. This moderate (so far) drought comes at a bad time for plants since winter is fast approaching, bringing a season of frozen temps and therefore scarce moisture intake.

We can’t make it rain but we can help, the organic way:

Fall fertilization can help to boost soil health for struggling plants going into a difficult season. Our compost tea contains microbes that aerate soil beds for better moisture flow and root growth stimulation.

Weakened evergreens may need an anti-transpirant application as we near winter. This helps retain moisture lost through the leaves and is highly recommended for newly transplanted material.

Winter is coming, contact us to prep.
